Specialized Bicycle Components, commonly known as Specialized, is a leading American bicycle company headquartered in California. The business was founded in 1974 by cycling enthusiast Mike Sinyard and is renowned for its focus on innovation and performance across various cycling disciplines. The company designs, manufactures and markets an extensive range of bicycles, components, accessories and apparel which it sells through a wide network of outlets across the globe.
We were asked to develop an energy efficient lighting scheme for a new retail outlet in Stafford, the aim was to provide a welcoming and visually engaging lighting solution that would help to showcase the bicycle displays. The system had to be quick to install and simple to maintain with the flexibility to be changed easily given the fluidity of the store layouts. In addition to this we were asked to accentuate the diverse range of colours throughout the store and include feature lighting to highlight the key product display areas.
Working closely with the store development team we opted for a 3 circuit track system coupled with our linear Ineal fittings for the ambient lighting and Coulis track spots for the feature lighting. This track based solution was quick to install and provided the flexibility the client was looking for, as products could be easily disconnected and relocated to another area within the store should layouts change. Specialized were very pleased with the finished result and we have since supplied the lighting to further outlets in Edinburgh, Guisborough, Plymouth and Chester.
