Skopes
Skopes Menswear is a family-owned tailoring brand established in 1948 by Sydney Cope in Leeds. From the get-go, they sought out fabric from Yorkshire’s finest mills to create bespoke trousers that got people talking. Soon the Skopes name became renowned for its cavalry twills, Hebden Bridge corduroy, and for sourcing the finest worsted yarns from Huddersfield. Inspired by Yorkshire’s rich textile heritage, Skopes has evolved from bespoke trousers to a broader range of menswear, including suits, jackets, shirts, and accessories. The brand emphasizes style and quality, aiming to offer classic and contemporary looks for all men.
We were invited to put forward a proposal for their new Gateshead store, we were given creative freedom by the Head of Retail to come up with a design that emphasised the brands exciting portfolio of high quality clothing. Our vision for the Skopes store was to blend contemporary aesthetics with timeless elegance, aligning with Skopes reputation for quality and style. We concentrated on creating a spacious, welcoming atmosphere that would enhance the shopping experience. Key elements included sleek, modern fixtures, luxurious materials, and strategic lighting to highlight the sophistication of the Skopes collection.
The Skopes team were extremely pleased with the final result, noting that the new lighting perfectly captured the essence of their brand. The fresh, modern design has received positive feedback from customers and has significantly enhanced the shopping experience. We continue to work closely with Skopes and their appointed shop fitters and over the last few years we have supplied the lighting to a number of new stores around the country including Braintree, Leeds & York.
